5. Due to being located at my residential address I will be unable to provide grooming services to consistently noisy dogs in respect of my neighbours.
6. If a client’s female dog comes into season before their appointment the client must notify the groomer as soon as possible to possibly reschedule their appointment. This is to avoid any unnecessary distress to other client’s male dogs and the groomer’s own male dogs.

8. If the client arrives over 15 minutes late for their dog’s appointment, the appointment may be cancelled and the deposit may be lost.
9. As the owner you are responsible to provide any information regarding your dog’s medical and behavioural history in order to help me carry out my grooming services safely, provide the correct time frame and taking your dog’s health and welfare needs as a number one priority.
10. The client agrees that their dog is fit and healthy enough to be groomed at the time of the appointment.
11. The client agrees that the groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin condition, or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping, shaving, or any other mishap caused by non-disclosure of the dog’s medical condition or behaviour.
12. If the dog attempts to bite the groomer, a muzzle may be used or at the discretion of the groomer, treatment may stop and the client will pay for all work done to that point.
13. If the client’s dog is very nervous, I will of course be gentle and take my time with them, but if I feel they are becoming too stressed I will stop the groom and the client will pay for all work done to that point.
14. If the client’s dog’s behaviour is the cause of any injury to the dog or the groomer, the client agrees to cover any veterinary or medical expenses.
15. If the dog harbours any signs of fleas the client agrees to pay a fee of £10 in order for the house to be fumigated.
16. If the dog’s health causes concern, the groomer will contact the client and, if necessary, obtain veterinary treatment at the client’s expense.
17. The client agrees that the groomer has the right to stop the groom at any time with the welfare of the dog coming first.
18. The groomer agrees to pay for any injury caused to the dog for any grooming related injuries or injuries caused in the salon, provided the client can produce a vet report for the groomer’s insurance company. All vet reports must be created less than 48 working hours of the groom, any veterinary treatment out of this time frame without reason will not be covered.
19. Any concerns and/or injuries that are believed to have happened due to the grooming procedure must be notified to the groomer within 48 hours of the groom and, if necessary, a vet report must be provided to the groomer for insurance purposes. Any adjustments to the groom are provided within 48 hours free of charge, if adjustments are requested more than 48 hours after the groom, the full grooming price will be charged due to the need for rebathing.

You have the right to request and review any of your personal information.
21. If you are driving, please park on the driveway in front of the salon to reduce traffic on the street, if the space is available.
22. All dogs must be on a secure lead at all times to ensure the safety of the dog. Inside the salon, the dog will always be restrained on a neck noose on the table and in the bath. The door to the salon will always be locked to ensure no dogs can escape when roaming on the floor. A covered crate is also provided for small dogs that prefer to be in a quiet safe space.
23. Ear plucking will only be provided if requested specifically by the owner. In this case the owner takes full responsibility for any infections and/or veterinary treatment needed as the groomer cannot guarantee that the plucking of the dog’s ears will not reveal any underlying issues.

Matting Policy

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal; therefore if you bring in your dog with more than 15 minutes of de-matting work, I am required by the Act to clip your dog short.

The need to remove matted hair is a necessity. When a coat becomes tangled beyond the ability to brush or comb through it the most humane method is to shave off the matted hair. Shaving may seem severe, but it is the fastest and least stressful way to groom a matted pet.

Matted coats can cause the following problems:

1. Skin irritation caused by dirt, dander and parasites trapped under the matted hair
2. Sores and hair loss: As mats get tighter, they eventually pull out of the skin, causing bald spots and sore skin
3. In severe cases, maggots can infest skin sores
4. It is not uncommon to find pre-existing conditions such as hot spots, sores and other skin issues once the matted coat is removed. There is a chance that your pet’s skin may become irritated from being clipped so close
5. Ear bruising or hematoma bleeding due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats can occur.

- The client understands that the procedure takes extreme care and extra time and will therefore be additional charges depending on the severity of matting
- The client hereby releases Dots & Bobs from responsibility for the above-mentioned shaving process and any problems that may be uncovered or occur during said procedure
- The client agrees to pay all charges for said procedure
- Should the dog require veterinary care during or after the procedure, we would contact the client to make
arrangements and the client agrees to pay all veterinary fees.

Teeth Cleaning

There are three different types of teeth cleaning services you are able to request.

1. Standard teeth cleaning with the dog's own personal toothbrush using teeth gel. This service provides a quick 2 minute teeth cleaning which can be added onto your full groom any time for an extra £2 or as part of any promotion I may be running.

2. If your dog is not comfortable with a toothbrush, the teeth cleaning gel can be used without the toothbrush and the tongue will work the gel around the mouth coating the teeth without unnecessary discomfort.

3. Ultrasonic teeth cleaning with the dog's own personal attachment using ultrasonic toothpaste. This service will need to be a separate 30 minute booking to the full groom (can be added onto the end of the groom). Dots & Bobs advises at least 3 sessions to get the dog used to the process. The toothbrush is totally silent and uses ultrasonic pulses to help remove the plaque from the dog's teeth keeping their comfort as the main priority.

Teeth cleaning is advised to be part of your dog's daily routine and Dots & Bobs is not liable for any underlying issues your dog may have that needs veterinary treatment. I am not able to provide any veterinary advice and if I notice anything of concern I will advise to seek veterinary advice immediately.

Dots & Bobs has the right to refuse teeth cleaning services for any reason e.g. the dog is not comfortable with me going into their mouth for cleaning or if the dog may not benefit from the teeth cleaning services provided.
